I am going to visit friends for the Fourth of July weekend. We all have decided to take turns cooking dinner. My problem is I’m a vegetarian and they are ALL big meat eaters. So I’m looking for some menu ideas. I want to use the grill, but don’t want to do veggie burgers and my husband won’t eat mushrooms, so portabella burgers are out as well. I was hoping someone can give me an idea of what else I can cook using the grill. I think I might want to grill some corn, but I need an entree. I want to WOW these meat eaters and show them Vegetarian cooking isn’t boring or bland. Thanks.

I want to make my own bbq sauce, but I am not sure what the base would be, and what other ingredients would go great together. I like my bbq to be sweet, spicy and thick. I really like Sonny’s sweet bbq so something kind of like that.

I want to put some ribs in the crock pot, but, I do not want to put bbq sauce in the crock pot while the cooking is happening. I do not like traditional sauces because they are too sweet and I like more vinegar based sauces and the sauce i do like does not taste good after being in the crock pot. So if you have a recipe for ribs in the crock pot without using any bbq sauce I would appreciate it. Thanks a lot!!

not short ribs, on a regular charcoal bbq. Nothing fancy, just the basic recipe.

I’ve been searching like crazy for a recipe for a chipoltle bbq dry rub like the “dusted chipoltle” flavor at quaker steak and lube. Ive made a few different kinds and they’re good but they’re not the same. the ones i’ve been making aren’t as sweet as what I’m looking for. I know when i eat the stuff at quaker steak i can taste a lot of brown sugar…but it still has a sort of bbq flavor. anyone have any ideas?
